Primary PE and Sport Premium Funding

Here you will be able to read our PE Premium Report, which details the impact of Physical Education, School Sports and Physical Activity at Causeway Green Primary.  We are incredibly proud of the hard work of our dedicated Sports Lead (Mr Postin) and Sports Coach (Mr Foreshaw), and the increased participation and attainment in physical activity that we have seen across the school.

The newest document details how we use our PE and Sport Premium Funding to plan for and deliver Physical Education.  The plan ensures that:

  1. There is increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport

  2. There is good engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity

  3. The profile of PE and sport is raised across the school as a tool for whole-school improvement

  4. There is a broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils

  5. There is increased participation in competitive sport

Our Commitment to PE and Sport at Causeway Green Primary School

At Causeway, we believe that Physical Education and Sport are a vital part of every child’s development. They help children to be healthy, confident, and resilient, as well as building teamwork, fairness, and respect.

To help all primary schools provide high-quality PE and sport, the Government gives additional funding called the PE and Sport Premium. We use this money to:

  • Improve the quality of PE lessons through training, resources, and coaching.

  • Offer a wide range of sports and activities, including for those who may be less active.

  • Provide opportunities to compete in school and local events.

  • Develop children’s fitness, skills, and confidence in physical activity.

  • Support pupils to meet national swimming and water safety standards.

How We Are Accountable

Every year, we must show exactly how we have used this funding and the difference it has made. The Government now requires all schools to:

  1. Publish a detailed report on our website by 31 July each year. This must include:

    • How much funding we have received.

    • How we spent it.

    • The impact it has had on pupils.

    • How we will make these improvements last.

    • Our Year 6 swimming and water safety results.

  2. Submit a digital report to the Department for Education (DfE), signed by the Headteacher, confirming the same information.

We are committed to being open and transparent with our community. You can read our latest reports here.

Our Promise

We will always use our PE and Sport Premium funding to:

  • Give every child the chance to take part in regular, enjoyable, and challenging physical activity.

  • Remove barriers to participation, especially for children who are less active or face extra challenges.

  • Make sure the benefits last well beyond the school year.

Together, we can give our children the skills, habits, and confidence to enjoy healthy, active lives – now and in the future.
