Welcome to Reception at Causeway Green Primary School

Starting Reception is a very special milestone – it’s often the first step into formal schooling for our children. We know this can feel both exciting and a little daunting for families, so we’ve put together lots of useful links, resources, activities and guidance here to help support you and your child as you begin this new adventure together.

In Reception, children learn best through play. Every day, they will be busy exploring, discovering, and joining in with a wide variety of fun and engaging activities both inside and outside the classroom. Along the way, they’ll be building new friendships, developing important skills, listening to and enjoying stories, and taking their very first steps into a lifelong love of learning.

In addition to your child's reading books, why not use the Oxford Owl e-book Library? The free eBook library has been created to help children aged 3–11 develop their reading skills at home. All the eBooks are free to use, but you will need to register or sign in at the link to read your book. Please note, the eBooks are not optimised for mobile phones and are best viewed on a computer, laptop, or tablet.
